Complete waterproofing and green roof solutions for Caldragh Saval Park Road residential project

Caldragh Saval Park Road is a residential development located on the outskirts of Dalkey, in Co. Dublin. The development consists of six four-bedroom, three-storey townhouses and one apartment block with five, one or two-bedroom, apartments. The development was designed by PMCA Architects and the project was managed by Waterlight Homes.

 

Soprema’s solutions and technical service provided for Caldragh Saval Park Road

Soprema joined the project in 2021 and provided complete waterproofing and roof garden solutions for the development, including warm and cold roof waterproofing, extensive green roof, and waterproofing balconies.

From the very beginning, our dedicated technical experts worked closely with the architects on the detailed design to ensure the development complied with building regulations. Our inhouse team assisted with full specification development and created four specs – one for the cold roof, one for the warm roof, one for the green roof, and one for the balconies. We were also responsible for preparing u-value calculations and taper insulation scheme design.

For the main roof, Soprema proposed BROOF(t4) compliant, bitumen warm roof with taper scheme and a standard extensive green roof build-up, whereas for the main terrace, we specified bitumen cold roof, as there was not enough space for warm roof system.

  • Drainage layer: Soprema 4+1h drainage/ protection board
  • Growth Medium: Soprema synthetic SM-50 substrate panel
  • Green Roof: Soprema Sedum Blanket
  • Edge Profile: Soprema GRP Edge Profile
  • Perimeter Detail: 12-20mm Washed rounded stone

For balconies and ICF (insulated concrete form) walls synthetic waterproofing, specifically PVC, was chosen.

As part of our onsite technical support, we performed site inspections, created site reports, issued a warranty on the systems installed, provided ancillary certification and BCAR sign-off.
