Soprema’s bitumen membranes
The superior-quality composition of our bituminous membranes, which have been developed to meet and exceed the requirements of the building regulations and of the industry, results in unparallel resistance. Our bitumen membranes are characterised by outstanding tensile strength and superb adherence to the substrate, minimising the chance of failure and ensuring a long service life of the roof. They are able to stretch without damaging the underlying layers and even absorb stresses to accommodate building movement, and they remain supple even in extremely cold conditions (temperatures of up to -30°), making them exceptionally easy to apply throughout the year. Finally, our bituminous waterproofing systems are FM approved and BROOF(t4) compliant.

We manufacture all the components – from primers and capsheets to insulation, for all types of roofs (warm, inverted, or cold roofs). As experts in bitumen, liquid, synthetic (PVC/TPO), and structural (hotmelt) waterproofing, we can offer fully compatible, hybrid solutions where several waterproofing systems are used, all under one single-point warranty. For example, using bituminous membranes for the surface of the flat roof but liquid waterproofing for upstands and detailing.
Additionally, our bituminous waterproofing systems are fully compatible with our functional roofs, including green, brown, blue, and solar roofs. When it comes to installing bituminous membranes, as a market leader, Soprema was the first company to develop a self-propelled, automatic bonding machine for the installation of bitumen membranes. The Mini-Mammouth, as it is called, is enhancing the work of installers while protecting their safety. Using the Mini-Mammouth, installers can be sure of a very high bonding rate, a significant reduction in gas consumption, and a safer, speedier installation.
